Eruption is a battle of the bands contest that sees both new and established bands playing their own material in contention for a cash prize that will cover the cost of producing an album or video at one of the local recording studios. Eruption takes place over 20+ heats throughout the summer (depending on the number of entrants), 4 semi-finals in January, with the grand final taking place in February.
