CIDERFEST

Eruption £2000-Battle-of-the-Bands-Final
10th Feb. 2023 at 6.30pm

The grand final of Eruption 2022-2023. Five bands. One prize. A winner-takes-all battle of the bands with a minimum of two grand cash prize. THE BRAHMA MANTRA + AFTERMATH + GENERAL WINSTON + THE FUNKY RED PANDAS + AMATEUR HOUR. For this particular edition we have five bands as Amateur Hour and The Funky Red Pandas tied. You can expect the winners and prizes of ERUPTION to be announced around 30 minutes after the last band finish playing. So probably around midnight.

Independent Venue Week
3rd & 4th Feb. 2023

Independent Venue Week is upon us once more as one of our weekend gigs! And how better to celebrate the UK’s grassroots venues than with a glass or two at Krakatoa as some excellent bands strut their stuff. On Friday, special guest headliners SNASH are up from Glasgow for the night, recently gigged at King Tuts, and play DIY punk music. They’re hugely experienced and ready to rock you. Local support comes from DEPECHE CHOAD and VIBRATOR. As for Saturday, it features headliners ROYAL BLOOM, all the way from Ayrshire to present to you their hard-rock/grunge sounds and excellent new album. FFO: Audioslave, AIC, Nirvana, Bush, Pearl Jam. Support is courtesy of the legendary DEADLOSS SUPERSTAR, and mighty SHEER.

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest at Krakatoa promises to be an absolute belter! The gig on Friday 30th Sep. will be free to anyone drinking for a minimum of an hour before the show starts at 7.30pm, after which we will ask for a small cover charge on new arrivals to the bar (so as to pay the bands). Oktoberfest will be followed on Saturday 1st Oct. by a Tool Tribute act – tickets for which are currently available at ticketweb.uk

NEScol SHOWCASE
2nd June 2022 from 3pm until 11pm

Music students from the HN1 and Level 6 music courses at North East Scotland College come together in an all day event to showcase their Live Performance sets. This includes varied genres and styles of music performed at local music hub Krakatoa. This is a 14+ event with age related curfews published on the venue website. Limited tickets available.


A Celebration of Mani’s life
4th May 2022 at 5pm

Sad news, Mani who has been one of our regulars here for over 20 years passed away recently. After his funeral where all his friends are welcome, a celebration of his life will be held at Krakatoa.
